The 4th installment of Asiasoft All Star Battle took place in Bangkok, bringing E-Sports to new heights in South East Asia.
Over 10,000 people attended in this event.
The Asiasoft All Star Battle 2011, featuring numerous tournaments of various Asiasoft games, has been held successfully by for four years running . This year's event was held on 23-24 July in Bangkok, Thailand. The E-Sport competition featured 9 games , the highlight being the Ragnarok Thailand Championship 2011 which was eventually won by P h E n O m E na. P h E n O m E na will go on to represent Thailand in the Ragnarok World Championships 2011 held in South Korea this October.
Another exciting tournament that was held was the PlayFPS International Heroes of A.V.A., where up to a whopping 30,000 USD could be won. Thai team MiTH emerged as champions, beating the heavily favoured Vietnam team.
The grand opening ceremony began with a world class championship cheerleader show, a parade of the representatives for the nine games featured as well as a PlayFPS parade of participating teams from Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The event saw many pretty girls who dressed in colorful cosplay of each game to entertain attendees. We were honored to have Prarop Lhoawanich, the vice minister of culture as chairman of the opening ceremony.
The competition in for both days was explosive, be it for a great legendary game like Ragnarok or the other highlight games, such as Yulgang, Cabal, Rohan, AIKA, Atlantica, TwelveSky2, Granado Espada, and Ghost Online and the PlayFPS International Heroes competition featuring two shooter games - S4League and A.V.A.
Non tournament participants weren't left out of the action either; many were seen taking part in the “Sniper Shot Win 10,000 Baht “ challenge. There were other such challenges and activities as well away from the competition zone, such as a sales event called the Asiasoft Grand Sale, which saw a massive giveaway of over 10,000 items to all event attendees, as well as a trial zone for newly published games such as S4League, A.V.A. and Lost Saga .
